Animal Abuser Convicted 

March 3, 2011- Ontario resident, Sherry Richie was convicted of felony animal cruelty for starving and neglecting her dog, Simba.  

The defendant was convicted in San Bernardino Superior Courthouse on one count of felony animal cruelty. Ms. Richie was sentenced to three years formal probation as well as search and seizure of property by Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. throughout her probation. In addition, Ms. Richie is ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $669.00 as a result veterinary care. After several months of care and rehabilitation the dog made a full recovery and was adopted. “We received the best outcome.” said Deputy District Attorney Debbie Ploghaus. “A felony conviction and a home for Simba.” 

The Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is a private, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to providing protection, shelter, and medical care to abandoned and injured animals of our community.
